Before initiating a Mac OS E El Capitan download and installation, you need to ensure that your Mac can run the operating system. For starters, if your Mac is listed here below, it should be able to run the El Capitan operating system: Late 2008 or newer MacBook or MacBook Air; Mid 2007 MacBook Pro or iMac; Early 2009 or newer Mac Mini. If you have NOT previously installed High Sierra, you can download and install this package (if running OS X 10.10 Yosemite or later) to install the latest BootROM version (you MUST reboot after installing the package to apply the firmware update). When installing, ensure your system is plugged in to power, or the update will not be installed. 3 thoughts on “ fixed: install OSX 10.11 ElCapitan on unsupported Macs ” TopHatProductions115 on at 17:55 said: Sounds like a plan – I’ll see if I can get my black Macbook 4,1 to run in style!
